Premier Schools Shield

The Premier Schools Shield invites all winning senior schools of their school sport association to compete in a T20 competition to find the best school team in Victoria. In 2013, we saw the following nine schools represent the association:

St Bede's (ACC), St Kevin's (APS), St Peters (SIS), Salesian College (SACCSS), Westbourne Grammar (ACS), Trinity Grammar (AGS), St Patricks (BAS), Luther College (EISM), Bendigo Senior SC (SSV).

St Kevin's and Trinity made it through to the final at Harry Trott Oval after defeating St Peter's and Luther in their semi-finals respectively. St Kevin's took out the total after chasing down Trinity's total of 5-102 in the 18th over.

Competing schools are also invited to take part in a mid-year indoor training session in the Bill Lawry centre at the MCG. This session is run by Cricket Victoria and gives an insight in to how the Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers, VicSpirit and Cricket Victoria's Academy teams train as well as the facilities they have access to.

Congratulations to St Kevin's on being crowned the 2013 Premier Schools Shield Champions.
