Cricket Victoria, supported by School Sport Victoria (SSV), have launched the Year 7 and 8 Girls Leadership Program for 2016.
After the success of the Girls Leadership Forum in November 2015, Cricket Victoria has expanded the program to include an interactive online learning program.
The program has been developed by Matti Clements, Director of Mental Edge Consulting - an organisation that specialises in team and organisational culture, wellbeing, performance enhancement, professional development services and support systems for high performance sporting organisations. Currently Matti is working on several large-scale projects including the development and delivery of a national wellbeing and professional development curriculum for the Australian Cricketers Association and Tennis Australia. Other recent clients include the AFL Players Association, Cricket Australia, Sailing Australia, Golf Australia, AFL, Netball Australia, Collingwood FC, Professional Footballers Association and many state sporting organisations around the country.
The program is made up of six 20 minutes modules and comprises of the following topics:
1. Your Leadership Spirit
2. Ignite Your Can Do
3. Stand Strong
4. Stepping Up for Yourself and Others
5. Your Resilience Superpower
6. Reach for the Stars
There will again be a forum held during term 4 (date TBC) this year. The forum will bring together the learnings from the online modules. Due to limited spaces, the numbers of girls that can be nominated to attend by schools will be capped.
Schools may nominate an unlimited number of year 7 and 8 girls from their school for the online interactive program. The online modules open on Monday, August 8.
