Victorian women’s cricket legends made honorary members of MCC

As the ICC Women's World Cup approaches its climax at Lord's, MCC has announced that 37 former women cricketers, whose careers spanned between 1954 and 2016, have accepted the Club's offer of Honorary Life Membership.

Parts of this article originally appeared on the Lord's website.

The list of Honorary Life Members of MCC includes many of the world's finest cricketers, as well as men and women who have been associated with the game as officials and administrators.

The women who have recently been elected are from England, Australia, India, New Zealand and Ireland.

Cricket Victoria extends special congratulations to Cathryn Fitzpatrick, Zoe Goss, Christina Matthews (née White), Raelee Thompson and Sharon Tredrea who all played for Victoria at a national level, as well as Karen Rolton who currently sits on the coaching panel for the VicSpirit.

MCC President Matthew Fleming said: "Never before has MCC awarded so many Honorary Life Memberships at one time, and I am delighted that we are able to do so now in recognition of 37 exceptional cricketing careers."
