In his last season, the celebratory game will allow Temby to line up with his brother and sons for the last time.
Since joining St John’s as a nine-year-old, Temby has accumulated a long list of accolades in cricket.
In his time, he has amassed over 7,800 runs and has taken over 780 wickets, giving him the record for the highest run-scorer and wicket taker at the club.
As the longest serving player on the club’s list, the former captain and secretary has enjoyed a great deal of success in cricket.
The 10-time premiership player has had the rare opportunity to play in the same team with his father, brother and two sons, winning a premiership with each of them.
“For me, to be able to play with three generations (of Tembys) has been the pinnacle,” Temby said.
Being the fifth member to be inducted in St Johns’ Hall of Fame, the opening bowler has also earned selection in the Western Suburbs United Churches Team of the Century.
In recent times, Temby has used his knowledge of the game to educate the younger players.
“Over the past 10 years, his influence around the club has been in a mentoring capacity,” St John’s Cricket Club secretary Graeme McGuinness said.
“He has a vast knowledge of cricket and has tried to implement that onto the younger generation.”
Earlier this season, the club also presented Temby with a certificate at their 120th anniversary function, where past and current players attended, along with special guests Rodney Hogg and Doug Hawkins.
The match will commence at 1pm on Saturday at the JT Gray Reserve in Williamstown.
