The event brought together multiple special schools around Victoria to learn the basic skills of cricket and play in a modified form of T20 Blast.
It showcased the skills students have been learning within their school clinics as well as an introduction to our school program for schools that are yet to participate.
There have never been more opportunities for people with a disability to be involved in cricket. Our disability pathway allows any cricketer with a disability to have the same opportunities as anyone else with the potential to one day represent your country in our great sport.
Schools involved in the day:
• Springvale Park Special Development School
• Emerson School
• Mornington Special Development School
• Vermont South Special School
• Peninsula Specialist College
• Berendale School
• Melton Specialist School
• Ashwood School
VicSpirit and Melbourne Renegades wicketkeeper Emma Inglis visited on the day as did Gavan Hicks – Captain of the Australian team for players with an intellectual disability and Captain of the Victorian Vikings who took home the national title at the National Cricket Inclusion Championships in January.
