Recognising Victoria’s School Ambassadors

With over 1000 existing Victorian school ambassadors, the program has been re-designed to encourage teachers to provide students with opportunities to get involved in cricket.

Aligning with the Australian Curriculum, the School Ambassador Program equips teachers with lesson plans, coaching resources, professional development opportunities and rewards such as merchandise and signed memorabilia to recognise their contribution to cricket.

“As a sport we value the contribution teachers make in organising and promoting cricket activities within their school,” Cricket Victoria Junior Participation Manager Darren Anderson said.

“Hopefully, through the School Ambassador Program we can not only encourage more teachers to jump on-board but also recognise those who are already doing a great job.”

Clifton Hill Primary School Physical Education Teacher Sophie Crockett endorsed the program because it helped to get her students active through fun and engaging activities. 

“I became an ambassador because I love cricket and I’m really interested in promoting cricket at Clifton Hill,” Crockett said.

“If you have an interest in cricket, or just want to increase the variety of sports at your school, I definitely suggest getting involved as an ambassador.

“If you’re not too sure about cricket, the programs given to you as an ambassador are easy to follow and the kids really enjoy playing them.”
