After winning the toss and electing to bowl first against New South Wales in their first match, Victoria put in a good bowling performance to bowl the Blues out for 144 in the 46th over.
Wade King (2-14) and Patrick Jackson (2-28) were the pick of the Victorian bowlers while Tom Collett, Rohan Best and Josh Eaton all picked up a wicket each.
Victoria never really looked like chasing the total down after the loss of early wickets, blown away by the NSW bowling attack for just 55 after 25 overs with no batsman registering a double-figure score.
Ben Patterson was the best bowler for NSW with an impressive haul of 5-7.
Victoria fared much better in their second-round T20 clash against Tasmania, winning by 31 runs.
Winning the toss and batting first, the Vics made their way to 7-153 from their 20 overs, largely thanks to Clayton McCartney who hit 51 from 26 balls, including eight boundaries and a six.
Josh Eaton (30 from 35) and Damon Egan (23 from 18) also chipped in to set Tasmania a tough total to chase.
The consistent loss of wickets and good bowling from Victoria meant that Tasmania fell short of the total, finishing on 9-122 from their allotted overs.
Eaton claimed 2-19 to go with his solid batting performance, while Connor Jackson was the other multiple wicket taking bowler with 2-24.
Patrick Jackson (1-11), Wade King (1-13), Tom Collett (1-23) and Rohan Best (1-25) claimed the other wickets as Victoria registered their first win of this year’s championships.
