Australian Junior Indoor Cricket Championships

Held at the Morphett Vale Indoor Sports Centre, Victoria will be represented in the under-13, under-15, and under-17 boys division as well as having two teams in the under-17 girls division.

As defending under-13 champions, Victoria is well placed to go deep into the competition and will be aiming for back-to-back titles, while the under-15 and under-17s will also been on the search for silverware.

“In the boys (division), our under-13s are reigning champions and remain very strong,” Cricket Victoria Indoor Cricket Manager Ross Gregory said.

“The under-15 and 17s indoor pathway program this year worked closely with our outdoor pathway partner, providing greater depth of talent in the trials and consequently stronger squads, so we are hoping to reap the rewards of this collaborative work.”

Off the back of Victoria’s new Women’s Premier Indoor Cricket League, the state has entered two strong under-17 girls’ teams who will both be looking to make an impact in the latter end of the tournament.

“The women’s league has helped in developing our junior talent and we are confident the girls will also do very well,” Gregory said.

The Championships begin on Sunday and will conclude on Saturday, July 12 with the Grand Finals of all five grades being held.
