In three matches against the SA Scorpions, she struck 76* (60), in the opening WT20 fixture, 133* (132) the following day in the WNCL clash then finished with 59 (41) in the final WT20 match.

She was dismissed for the first time in three matches with just 15 runs to get in the last match.

The performance was a springboard for a brilliant season for Villani, which saw her named the WT20 Player of the Season at the year’s end.

She also was named the Cathryn Fitzpatrick Award winner for the second consecutive year.

Villani has now secured a spot at the top of the Australian T20 batting line-up and is playing in the current WT20 in Bangladesh, alongside Meg Lanning, Jess Cameron and Julie Hunter.
