Brody Couch (21 years old), Sam Elliott (21) and Todd Murphy (20) are in contention to make their Victorian debuts. Wil Parker (18), who has played two Shield matches for Victoria, could also play his first one day game for his state.

Bowlers James Pattinson, Jon Holland and Will Sutherland, who all featured in Victoria’s opening one-day match of the season against New South Wales last month, have been left out of the squad after consecutive Shield matches.

Victoria will play four one-day matches and three Sheffield Shield games over the next 29 days.

“With such a busy schedule we’re taking the opportunity to rest some of the players who have carried a heavy load in our recent Shield games,” Victorian Chairman of Selectors Andrew Lynch said.

“This also provides an opportunity for some of the younger players within the squad and we’re looking forward to seeing what they can produce on Wednesday.”

Marcus Harris will also miss the match after accepting a one game suspension for abuse of equipment during the Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania on March 5.
