Harper and Wareham nominated for Commonwealth Bank Future Star Award

Former Victorian under-17 captain Harper impressed in his Toyota Futures League debut, hitting 31 and 47, while also wicketkeeping during the match.

His selection in that fixture came after he posted 89 for Melbourne in Bartercard Premier Cricket, his highest score in the Demons’ First XI.

Wareham was one of Victoria’s best performers at the Under-18 National Championships, collecting ten wickets.

She has also been opening the batting in her under-16s side for Mortlake, in which she plays in the male competition, making 46 and 33.

Introduced in 2005-06, the Commonwealth Bank Future Star Award is presented each season to the best under-19 Victorian male and female player based on the their form at Bartercard Premier Cricket level and at the National Championships, with nominations selected by a panel of committee members on a monthly basis.

The winners of the Commonwealth Bank Future Star Award will be crowned at the Cricket Victoria State Awards at the end of the month.
