Under-15s undefeated after three games

Victoria can now secure a place in Friday’s Final with a victory in their next match against Queensland tomorrow.

The team started the tournament with a comprehensive victory over Tasmania on Sunday when 84 (107) from Mackenzie Harvey and 42 (56) from Shubham Bhargave led the side to 8-272 from their 50 overs before Samuel Elliott ripped through the Tasmanian top-order as they could only muster 86.

A brilliant 80 (87) from Nathan Murphy saved the side in their clash against the ACT after a flurry of early wickets.

After compiling 9-212, Victoria’s bowlers never gave the opposition a chance and wrapped up a 87-run victory in the 40th over with Dulnath Hendawitharana claiming 4-7.

In yesterday’s third match against Western Australia the Victorians were forced to work hard for the win with the team grabbing 9-49 to take victory.

William Sutherland 39 (76) and Bhargave 34 (59) top scored and with contributions from the majority of the batting line up, the team posted 9-178.

Western Australia appeared to be cruising to victory at 1-106 before five wickets between Bhargave (3-20) and James Boyce (2-14) and three run-outs saw Victoria snatched a 23-run victory.

Victoria is currently equal first on the ladder with New South Wales and will meet them in the Final on Friday should they overcome Queensland tomorrow.
