Having reached the Final last summer, Commonwealth Bank VicSpirit rookie Alana King is among six players who will return this season alongside Rebecca Carter, Sarah Chancellor-Goddard, Gemma Gibbons, Nicola Hancock and Chelsea Moscript.
Victorian coach Duncan Harrison said the squad had undergone an exhaustive selection process to survive the final cut.
“We believe that we’ve selected a well-balanced squad,” Harrison said.
“They’ve prepared really well and enjoyed a worthwhile camp in Lake Dewar last week.
“It’s a good mix from last year with some underage girls coming through from the under-15 team, so we’re looking forward to a strong campaign.”
Chancellor-Goddard (11 at 14.82), Hancock (10 at 17.80) and King (nine at 13.78) were all among the top-10 wicket-takers during last season’s Championships, with the trio again expected to feature prominently.
The Under-18 National Championships will be staged in Ballarat from January 15 to 21, 2014.
