An unbeaten 45-run knock from captain Renee Melton took Victoria to 2-116 before the bowling attack restricted WA to 3-107.

After losing the toss and being sent into bat, the Victorian innings got off to a shaky start when opener Jacinta Goodger-Chandler was dismissed for two.

Veteran Fiona Hale combined with captain Renee Melton for a 56-run partnership to set up the defendable total.

Hale departed for 21 bringing Natalie Plane to the crease, who worked with Melton to pile on an unbeaten 34 and take Victoria to 2-116 after 20 overs.

In reply, WA’s top four batters provided solid contributions however, the potent Victorian bowling attack managed to restrict them to 3-107.

Jess Martin (1-6), Hale (1-20) and Goodger-Chandler (1-23) were Victoria’s sole wicket takers.

In the men’s division, Victoria finished on top of the ladder, however, they suffered a 39-run loss to Queensland.

The women’s Imparja Cup Final will be played today in Alice Springs at 11.15am local time.
